The cost of earning a degree from Castleton University will depend on student residency, living arrangements, and the type of program selected. The average tuition for full-time Vermont residents is $11,832 per year, but non-residents pay more. Non-Vermont residents working towards an undergraduate degree full-time will owe $28,800 per year. Graduate students are charged at a rate of $662 per credit hour.

In addition to the many bachelor’s degrees available, the university has a number of options for graduate students as well. The goal across all graduate programs is to cultivate the knowledge and competence necessary to advance as a professional in the field.

With 80 full-time faculty members, the university has a student-faculty ratio of 12:1, which means the average class size is 17. As a result, students will have more opportunities for one-on-one interactions with instructors.

The retention rate for first-time students pursing bachelor’s degrees was 66% for full-time students in 2019. This statistic is significant because it indicates how many students were satisfied enough with their experiences to choose to return to the university a second year. Many people use the retention rate to gauge overall student satisfaction prior to enrolling.

Another important consideration is the university’s graduation rate. Also known as the “Student Right to Know”, this number is tracked to show how many students are able to graduate within a standard amount of time. In most cases, the standard is four years.
