Students can select between in-person, online, and hybrid programs and courses. Associate degrees, certificates, and pathways to bachelor’s degrees are available to all that qualify. Many programs are considered to be vocational or technical, with advanced skill development to succeed in your career upon graduation. Each program is designed to include the newest competencies so that graduates are as well-trained and employable as possible once they complete their programs.

In addition to education preparation, students will have access to a variety of events, support, activities, guidance, and enrichment that will help them contribute positively to society in many facets in the long term. The state of Florida is pushing initiatives to make degrees more affordable. Eastern Florida State College has done an exceptional job of minimizing degree expenses with an average net price of $4,408 each year. The in-state tuition is $2,496 and the out-of-state tuition is $9,739. All students can expect to pay another $12,000 or so for additional expenses, including room and board, books, supplies, classroom fees, and others.

EFSC also works to provide extensive financial aid to their students such as grants, scholarships, and student loans. Roughly 66% of all students at Eastern Florida State College receive financial aid in all forms. Work-study programs are also available and many students today choose to work off-campus or to complete paid internships as a way to pay for courses.

Students have the opportunity to select from over 100 programs and degrees. Many such programs are offered as associate of arts or associate of science degrees specifically created for students to transition into bachelor’s degree programs. It’s possible to complete a bachelor’s degree immediately following the associate degree or students can enter the workforce to gain experience while working toward a bachelor’s degree whenever the time feels right.

Degrees are not the only higher education opportunities at Eastern Florida State College. Students can also select from over 90 technical, vocational, and career-enhancing programs. These include workforce training and certificates at various levels. The subjects students can choose from are varied and include aerospace and aviation, business, computer science, community education, graphic design, engineering, health and nursing, music, theater, science, drafting and design, math, and much more. You could also choose to study abroad or enter the service industry, various trades, public safety, educator preparation, and others.

As a way to help students navigate degree selection, career pathways, and academic support, the college offers a number of resources to students to keep them on track. The four-year graduation rate is 48.4%, which is lower than the national average. However, there is a reasonable student-to-faculty ratio of 17 to 1, the lower price tag to reduce the number of working students or other possibilities.

As part of the school’s student service offerings, an extensive career center is available to all program participants at any time throughout their educational experience. The career center offers both in-person and virtual services including job searches, interview preparations, resume assistance, and more. These services also include internship connections, career assessments and community participation.

All EFSC alumni have access to additional career advantages after graduation. They can participate in alumni events and pursue continuing education online regardless of where alumni live and work. And as part of the alumni, individuals can participate in job fairs, workshops, and reach out to the college to find students for internship and employment opportunities.
