Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) is a public, four-year institution. Its main campus is located in Portales, New Mexico but the institution also has two branches that award associate degrees in Ruidoso and Roswell. Opened in 1934, it is the state’s youngest and largest regional comprehensive university. ENMU Tuition Cost & Financial Aid


Eastern New Mexico University is dedicated to ensuring that no student who belongs at the school will encounter cost barriers. Cost of attendance does, however, vary based on several important factors, such as residency and the type of degree sought.

New Mexico undergraduate students enrolled in 12 to 18 hours of classes can expect to spend $2,037 per semester in tuition. Out-of-state undergraduate students, however, will be responsible for paying $3,057 in tuition each semester. Distance learners should add $17 per credit hour for online classes. All students are also responsible for various school fees, which total $1,227 regardless of residency status. Additionally, prospective students should keep in mind the estimated cost of living on campus. This expense ranges from $1,891 to $2,460 per semester, with an additional $2,016 for a meal plan. Finally, the projected cost of books and supplies is $450 per semester.

Graduate students should expect to pay varying tuition rates. While the first one to six credit hours costs $297.25 each regardless of residency, non-residents pay higher amounts per credit hour when enrolled in seven or more. At this point, out-of-state students will pay $395 per credit hour. At nine credit hours, non-residents become responsible for paying $3,555 per semester. Graduate-level learners also pay registration and identification card fees, as well as the cost of books and supplies.
