Baker Tuition Cost & Financial Aid
Though Baker University is a private college, its tuition and other fees are reasonable, especially given the high quality of its academics. The base cost for the education including tuition, books, and fees, is just over $30,000. When living expenses and related costs are tallied, students pay $45,000 for a year at Baker. Off campus students may pay a bit more or less depending on what sort of rent they can negotiate. All of these costs are mitigated by Baker's financial aid packages, which are terrific.
In fact, 100% of all first-year, full-time students at Baker receive grants and scholarships that average $21,000 per student, thus nearly halving the total cost for a year of stellar academics. To help cover costs, around 65% of students take out federal or private student loans. Once these financial aid instruments are utilized, the net cost of a Baker education comes down significantly.
In fact, of students who receive Title IV aid, the lowest income families have a net price of $19,000. At the top end, those high-income families pay a net price of $25,000. The overall average net cost is just under $24,000.

Academics
Baker University may be small in stature, but it's large on academics. Each of its 1,600 students receives some of the best instruction possible, which is then evidenced in the working world. In fact, while Baker may not be able to boast hundreds of major degree options, they can offer the sort of personal touch that helps students grow and achieve their maximum personal and intellectual potential.
BU's academic prowess is first evidenced in their retention rates and graduation percentages. That is, when a full-time first-year student completes their first year, they and 75% of their peers are sure to return for a second year. Then, 64% of students walk across the stage and receive a diploma. On top if this, 21% of students transfer out on the strength of the education they already have.
These terrific numbers are due in no small part to the favorable student-to-teacher ratio found in BU's classrooms. The average class size is 11 students. What that means is that students are welcome to more personal attention than those on larger, less personal campuses. When class sizes are this small, students are able to ask questions and participate in classroom discussions more easily. Furthermore, students are also more likely to be called on in class, so everyone is sure to do the reading the night before.
