As for campus life, Cameron University supports a diverse student body and a wide range of opportunities to inform academic rigor with social and other activities. There are academic organizations such as the accounting club, chemical society, honors society, and history club. Cameron also supports Greek social organizations. Altogether, Cameron hosts three sororities and two fraternities.

Students also love taking advantage of the Aggie Rec Center. After class, students can get a workout, play a pick-up game of basketball, swim laps, play racquetball, run on the track, or use one of the many cardio machines. Active students also enjoy participating in the campus intramural leagues. Intramural sports include basketball, bowling, golf, soccer, and flag football, to name a few.

Since Cameron University is a part of the University system of Oklahoma, they are able to contain their costs through public subsidies. Thus, students and their families appreciate the cost structure, especially for those Oklahoma resident and those students who qualify for the Western Undergraduate Exchange. Thus, in-state student’s gross costs for tuition, books, and academic fees are under $8,000 per year. Non-Oklahoma residents who don't qualify for the Western Undergraduate Exchange face gross costs of almost $10,000 more. When living expenses are tallied, Oklahomans who live on campus pay around $16,500 per year. Those who live in the town of Lawton pay approximately $21,000. Non-residents can add around $10,000 to those figures.

However, once the financial aid office has completed its work, the costs drop dramatically. Their work results in an overall average cost of education of less than $8,500. Lower income students pay only around $7,100 and top income families pay over $14,000. Academics at Cameron University are top-notch. While their list of academic majors may not be as long as at some other schools, Cameron capitalizes on this to put their energies into these subjects. When we evaluated the school’s academic statistics, the picture was quite rosy. We first evaluated their retention rate, which indicates how many first-time, full-time students return to campus after their first year. The number measures overall satisfaction on the part of students and their families. Cameron boasts a healthy 67% retention. When it comes to graduation, while students graduate at a rate of 23%, an additional 30% are known to transfer. Since students typically transfer in order to complete their degree at a college that is equal or greater than their original institution, it’s clear that Cameron University is preparing students for success. Though we don't know where these students transfer to, there's a good chance that they are moving to complete their degrees at the University of Oklahoma.

For those on campus, the student-to-faculty ratio is a healthy 19 to 1. Since classes only decrease in size as one's education continues, by the time students reach their final major courses, their classes are sure to be quite cozy indeed.
