Academics

There is much to consider when picking the right school for your academic career. Below is a list we have compiled that examines some of the important elements that should be considered, but which prospective students don’t always think about.

  • Retention Rate: Louisiana Tech has a retention rate of 81%. This is an excellent rate and well above the national average. This means that 80 out of 100 incoming freshmen come back for their second year of college.
  • Graduation Rate: This number represents the percentage of students that graduate within four and six years. For Louisiana Tech these numbers are around 40% and 60%, respectively.
  • Student-Faculty Ratio: The student to faculty ratio at Laredo is 23:1. This ratio is a little high, but for students who prefer to work independently and don’t require a lot of interaction for faculty, it is an acceptable rate, but there are still opportunities to meet with faculty if needed.

When you look at this data collectively, Louisiana Tech is ideal for students who want to forge solid relationship, have access to faculty and actually graduate.
