Students can pursue nearly any type of degree level program as well as participate in various initiatives toward sustainability. Technology and experiential learning are important aspects of each program. Radford offers 3 associate degrees, 76 undergraduate degrees, 14 post-baccalaureate certificates, 6 graduate certificates, 28 master’s degrees, 1 post-master’s degree certificate, and 6 doctoral programs. A small number of students will pursue clinical programs in Roanoke as part of a specialized partnership.

To provide a full college experience, the school offers NCAA Division I sports programs in 16 varsity athletics for men and women. Students have access to more than 300 organizations and clubs, as well as leadership development opportunities, community service, and student engagement programs. It is the goal of the school to produce graduates who are responsible, well-educated, critical thinkers, mature, and analytical, with a commitment to improving the communities in which they reside. Religious and spiritual opportunities also exist.

Undergraduate students can expect a tuition cost of $11,350 for in-state students and $23,432 for out-of-state students. Roughly 88% of students receive some sort of financial aid in the form of grants, student loans, or scholarships to help lower the overall expense of a Radford education. The dedicated colleges are designed to provide program participants with an advantage during the job search, as well as to offer regional and national employers with the job candidates they need. Radford provides a number of academic resources to ensure students have the support they require to complete courses successfully including counseling services, new student programs, IT support and technology assistance, a writing center, career and talent development, and grad school preparation.

Program types are as varied as the educational offerings including 47 disciplines in 76 undergraduate programs, 23 disciplines in 28 graduate school programs, 3 associate degrees, 21 certificates, and 6 doctoral programs. The colleges and departments provide well-rounded academic opportunities in various fields such as business and economics, science and technology, visual and performing arts, health and human services, education and human development, and humanities and behavioral sciences.

All degree programs are designed to incorporate collaboration, skill development, and exposure to multicultural and challenging environments to prepare students for the real world. As a result, the university experiences a solid 71% retention rate. The school has some room for improvement in the graduation rates of 40% and 55% for four-year and six-year completion, respectively. Part of the reason for lower graduation rates could be due to the fact students work while they complete degrees and that the school has a number of transfer students.

The Center for Career and Talent Development works to prepare all students for a successful future. Students can select from one-on-one appointments with a career coach or any number of online or in-person tools and resources. The latest resource is the PATHWAYU specifically designed for current students. The center also offers features for employers, faculty, friends, and family.

Other helpful services, tools, and resources also exist such as resume reviews, LinkedIn profile assistance, workshops, interview practice, and more. Students will receive assistance with selecting majors, applying to jobs, preparing for grad school, and finding internships. The overall aim of the center is to help students discover their individual skills and talents so that they might experience professional and personal growth over their lifetimes while thriving in their careers.
