As a private, non-profit institution, the University of Massachusetts Global is dedicated to providing quality academic programs at a great value. The total cost of attendance will vary depending on several factors, including degree level and the number of credit hours taken. Prospective students are encouraged to utilize the university’s tuition calculator for the most accurate estimates.

Tuition and fees are the same for resident and non-resident students. Undergraduate courses cost $500 per credit hour, whereas credential and master degree courses cost $680 per credit hour. Pre-licensure ABSN classes are also available. These cost $805 per credit hour. Additionally, those working towards Doctorate of Education degrees will pay $1,015 per credit hour and those working towards Doctorate of Nursing degrees will pay $1,185 per credit hour. It’s important to realize that these price estimates do not include the cost of housing and meals. The university does offer active-duty military and spouses discounts.

The University of Massachusetts Global offers financial aid to undergraduates enrolled in degree programs and teacher credential programs in the form of need-based and non-need based grants, loans, and outside scholarships. Approximately 100% of full-time beginning undergraduate students receive financial aid of some kind.

The University of Massachusetts Global serves primarily non-traditional students and adult learners a dynamic and nurturing learning environment for students. The institution offers three learning formats intended to work around busy schedules: competency-based, hybrid course-based, and online course-based. With 20 years of experience in online course development, teaching, and learning, UMass Global is a leader in online learning.

Students can choose from degree programs at various academic levels – associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral. The school also offers certificates, credentials, authorizations, and single courses. With over 90 programs built around the skills and experiences students need most, there are plenty of academic pathways to choose from.

The University of Massachusetts - Global has a student population of approximately 10,986 - 6,114 of whom are enrolled in undergraduate programs. With 97 full-time and 815 part-time faculty members, that means the student-to-faculty ratio is 22:1. Higher than some schools, this does mean students may have a little more difficulty receiving one-on-one attention and assistance from professors, however, it is easier sometimes to get in touch with teachers when you’re taking online courses since they are just an email away.

In 2020, the retention rate for first-time students pursing bachelor’s degrees at the University of Massachusetts Global was 40%. It’s important to note, however, that this institution primarily serves non-traditional students and adult learners. This means that the part-time, first-time bachelor’s cohort represents a very small percentage of the undergraduate student population. Only 2% of students entering were actually counted as full-time, first-time students.

The university does have a fairly competitive graduation rate. Regarding the 2012-2013 cohort, 71% of non-first-time, full-time students and 56% of non-first-time, part-time students graduated within eight years.
