When they're not hard at work becoming the leaders of tomorrow, students at the University of Miami can recreate themselves in the 120,000 square foot Donna E Shalala Student Center. The Center hosts a variety of events but also features plenty of sofas and nooks where students can study, plan for projects, or simply take a breather between classes. For sports and recreation, U of M students head to the Patti & Allan Herbert Wellness Center.

The Wellness Center is well-equipped with indoor facilities that include a lap pool, a walk/run track, two gymnasiums, cardio and weight machines, and courts for both squash and racquetball. Outside, students enjoy pick-up and scheduled games on the four basketball courts, six tennis courts, and the five intramural playing fields. Non-varsity athletes enjoy a place on the roster of club and intramural sports and the COVID pandemic prompted a new E-sports program that is sure to be very popular.
