Total enrollment is nearly 20,900, with the majority pursuing graduate-level education. Only 6,637 are enrolled as undergraduates. The university employs 901 full-time and 942 part-time faculty members. While most focus solely on instruction, 75 dedicate tie to research and public service. Nova Southeastern University charges a flat rate of $17,250 per semester, assuming students are enrolled in 12 to 18 credit hours. Fewer or additional credit hours cost $1,150 each. The institution does offer adjusted rates for military members and veterans, however. Online eArmy credits are $797 each.

Students are also responsible for paying various fees. In addition to the $50 application fee, those enrolled must spend $600 per semester on student services. Health insurance is also required and charged at a rate of either $2,092 for 12 months or $2,615 for 15 months for those not covered elsewhere. Additionally, course fees range from $0 to $275 per class, with books costing between $100 and $250 per course as well.

Those interested in attending Nova Southeastern University should also plan to pay for room and board. The average annual plan, including meals, offered by the institution is $11,200 annually. It’s important to note, however, that residence halls are only available at the Fort Lauderdale/Davie campus. Those enrolled may be able to save money by residing with family off-campus.

To this end, the institution offers many degree programs through distance education. In fact, the university was the first in the country to offer doctoral education online. Remote learners can access all course content and are able to complete a wide range of activities, including frequent student-teacher and student-student communication.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), as of fall 2020, Nova Southeastern University had a first-year undergraduate retention rate of 78% for full-time students. Notably, this is higher than the national average of 68%. The retention rate was 27% for part-time students. Nova Southeastern University tracks student and alumni data. Based on survey responses, over 75% of recent graduates secured postgraduate plans within six months of graduation. Additionally, the average starting salary for recent graduates is $50,000.

The institution also works with Performa Higher Education to implement and analyze feedback from alumni. The most recent assessments were conducted in 2010 and 2011. Data obtained indicates that at least 94% of alumni were either satisfied or very satisfied with their quality of academic experience at the institution. Approximately 90% felt that the school prepared them for their careers and more than 93% agreed that the learning environment was interactive, open to differences, and discussed the relevance of topics beyond the classroom.
